A little bit about us

edcentric teaching is a company based in Changsha, Hunan with the goal to "make English accessible to everyone". It is an idea that stems from a desire to ensure everyone, regardless of background, can be given the chance to study English by also offering hopeful individuals the chance to teach it. We might be small in size, but we are big in ambition.

We are a company that specialises in providing high quality internships for foreigners looking to teach in China and we pride ourselves on our vast network of contacts and our superior ability to place interns in a wide array of schools and kindergartens around China.

We know it can be very daunting, uprooting your life and starting anew in a strange place, with no friends or family to fall back on. Please rest easy as we offer first class service from beginning to end and we strive to make the transition to life in China as seamless as possible. From visa processing and job hunting right down to settling into your new apartment and shopping for groceries in the local food markets, edcentric teaching will be there for you, with a friendly smile and a welcoming hand.

And finally a word from the top

Shea

Also the driving force behind the website and, as overseas intern liaison officer, the person you'll most likely come into contact with first.

More importantly though, I'm a foreign teacher with 10 years TEFL experience under my belt. I have been living and teaching in Changsha, Hunan since I first arrived in January of 2011 and in my time in China I've worked at a variety of kindergartens, schools and training centers and taught students of all ages, from 5 all the way up to 50. There is a reason I am still teaching in China after so many years.
edcentric introduction to Shea Brewer, TEFL expert
It's undeniably a passion of mine, always has been and always will be, and even though it has taken a back seat to my other duties in more recent years I still love to jump back into the classroom from time to time. Theres no better way to brighten up ones day then by entering a classroom full of wide eyed 3-4 year olds and teaching, learning and more importantly, playing together. It is my desire to share this passion with people the world over and empower them to follow their dream too.

China is certainly a big step for many to take; when I first arrived I was also very scared and alone. Eventually though I made friends both in and out of work and through their support and help I have had many happy years in China and look forward to having many more. At edcentric teaching my goal was to create a strong foundation for new teachers, so right out of the door, they'd have the same support and help that allowed me to settle into life in China.

Trust me when I say that while you may have fear and uncertainty in the beginning, this will pass and you'll never look back, you'll never regret and, most importantly, you'll never be alone again.
